The General Education program offers certificates of achievement to satisfy the general education requirements for the California State University (CSU) system or the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC).
In addition, the Associate in Liberal Arts degree is designed for students who wish a broad knowledge of liberal arts and sciences, plus additional studies in one of four "Areas of Emphasis". An area of emphasis would be an appropriate choice for a student planning to transfer to the California State University (CSU) or the University of California (UC), as the student can satisfy general education requirements, plus focus on transferable coursework that relates to majors at CSU or UC. Students must satisfactorily complete 60 units of collegiate coursework with a "C" (2.0) grade point average in curriculum that the district accepts toward this degree.
